One of the key ingredients of the day cream is a 5% ceramides complex. Ceramides are oils naturally present in the skin and which serve to maintain the hydration of the skin. They are therefore essential for the maintenance of healthy skin. The cream also contains Glycolic Acid extract to target enlarged pores. Glycolic acid is a cosmetic active ingredient of natural origin: this fruit sugar derivative is part of the family of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA). It is a keratolytic agent that takes off and eliminates dead cells on the surface of the skin, hence its frequent use in exfoliating and peeling treatments. This active ingredient has an excellent ability to penetrate the skin which allows it to promote cell renewal but also to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and pigment spots. Glycolic acid also has a sebum-regulating activity: it helps regulate the level of sebum in the skin, thus limiting the dilation of pores.
